Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allahi wa BarakatuHu,
In sha Allah this message reaches you in a state of high eman and health. We have been progressing successfully through the course of this school year. To keep your in the loop, we have the following updates.
In Social Studies and in Language Arts we have been wrapping up Unit One. Students have been working on their Portfolios and finding artifacts for their exploration of Unit One concepts. They have been compiling them and creating cohesive narratives to tell alongside the artifacts. In Social Studies students have been working on their speech project as well as taking the Unit test.
For the coming weeks, we are excited to enter into the next unit on our journey this year. Our new unit, Moral Literacy: Energy, Balance and Conscience will begin with a look at the connections between character and our legacy as well as the legacy of our beloved Prophet (saws). As we explore the Last Sermon, we will also explore the noble characteristics of the Prophet (saws), and Insha'Allah strive to embed these traits within our own lives.
Upon return from Eid Break, students will be working hard to prepare for their Washington DC trip. Many exciting projects and concepts will be covered in order to ensure that the students are adequately prepared for the enriching experience of seeing our nation's capital. We are looking forward to growing and learning in everything we do insha'Allah.
As a final note, I would like to recognize Alia Alsharif for giving an excellent presentation in class about the role of women during the American Revolutionary War. Students were engaged and inspired by the information presented and we all learned a lot alhamdulilah. I hope to see many more great things from all the students insha'Allah. Please be sure to check this Weebly site for all updates in relation to our eighth grade class. Updates are on the homepage Please feel free to contact myself, or any of the other 8th grade teachers.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan
