In sha Allah this message reaches you in a state of high eman and health. We have been progressing successfully through the course of this school year. Below are some updates about the 8th graders. They have been condensed into bullet points for your convenience.
- AlhamduliLah our 8th graders hosted the first ever Interscholastic Pre-Capitol Day debates here at Crescent Academy. Students got to meet other Muslim students from MI area schools and practiced being kind and gracious hosts. Additionally, our students learned a lot from the intense debate matches and were able to progress to the final round. In the end though, AlhamduliLah, our peer school Huda School was able to take the winning title. May Allah Bless this sunnah that our 8th graders have established and allow it to flourish in their scale of good deeds.
- In Social Studies and LA, students are going to begin exploring social justice issues around the Civil Rights Movement. They will consider the legacies of leaders from the era and consider their own legacies and what story they want to leave behind for future generations.
- In Science, students will begin to explore biological systems and the functions of organs in maintaining biological balance.
- In Math, students are wrapping up their study of geometric shapes and series. They completed a Study Island quiz for this subject topic.
- NWEA testing is coming up next week. Please make sure that your student is well rested and has a healthy breakfast every morning.
- Cedar Point Trip Permission Slips are due this week so please ensure that your student hands in their form.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns in the upcoming weeks. We always look forward to feedback from you.
